Math Madness Wednesdays badge black I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in such a long time!  However, I couldn’t resist linking up with Krista over at Teaching MOMster for her Math Madness Wednesday.  It’s all about Fall this week, my favorite time of the year.  Be sure to check out her fabulous post about fun Fall activities. Fall The past several weeks we have been practicing place value concepts.  I created a fall themed unit to deepen student understanding.  After instruction, modeling, and practicing together, we used the scoot cards from my product to tie all of our learning together.   During this activity students had to build a number with their base ten blocks, add ten more, and then write the number on their recording sheet.  Before students moved to the next station, they had to read their numbers to me and have their work checked.   Adding ten more.   Each student had an individual basket with everything they needed to complete the task.  They took all materials with them as they rotated to the next available center.   basket of supplies This product is available at my Teachers Pay Teachers Store.  You can find the link by clicking the product cover page below. Fall Cover We are just starting all the fall activities in our classroom.  This week we are working on the apple poem, which is free for you by clicking the poem below.  Each day we read this for fluency.  Today the girls read one sentence, the boys the next, then everyone read the last sentence.  We highlighted rhyming words.  Today we circled antonyms and did antonym activities during circle time.   Apple Poem Hope you are enjoying the taste of fall that is in the air!
